Jorge Di Paola, MD, is director of the Hemophilia Treatment Center at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, where he is also assistant professor of pediatrics. Currently, Dr. Di Paola is involved as principal investigator for VWD research projects funded by the NIH and the Hemophilia and Thrombophilia Research Society. He has been involved in hemophilia B clinical trials and molecular studies of the factor IX gene.
Dr. Di Paola has been invited to speak both nationally and internationally, most recently speaking at Emory University. Additionally, Dr. Di Paola dedicates his time to teaching and mentoring young doctors. In 2003, he received the James C. Taylor Teaching Award from the University of Iowa Department of Pediatrics.
Dr. Di Paola received his medical degree from the University of Buenos Aires, and his professional memberships include the American Society of Hematology, the National Hemophilia Foundation, and the American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. Dr. Di Paola is board certified in pediatrics and in pediatric hematology and oncology.
