David Lillicrap is director of the Kingston Regional Hemophilia Program in the Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. He is also a professor in the Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine at Queen's University.
For almost 20 years, Dr. Lillicrap has assumed the role of principal investigator on a number of influential research projects dealing with bleeding disorders, including von Willebrand Disease. His current focus is on the molecular genetic aspects of the hemostatic system. Dr. Lillicrap's dedication to research has earned him a prestigious Canadian Research Chair in Molecular Hemostasis from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and a Career Investigator Award from the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario. He has also been invited to speak about bleeding disorders at scientific institutions all around the world.
Dr. Lillicrap received his medical degree from St. Mary's Hospital Medical School, University of London, England. He is certified in hematology and internal medicine. His professional affiliations include a membership on the National Hemophilia Foundation Medical and Scientific Advisory Committee and the Gene Therapy Working Group of the National Hemophilia Foundation. He currently serves as co-chair of the International Society for Thrombosis and Haemostasis Scientific and Standardization subcommittee on von Willebrand factor.
